                                            Our Philosophy of Care

Palliative care is the holistic care of patients whose illness has a limited, non-curative purpose in life.
Our philosophy of care is based on the following principles:

  • Respecting the patient's wishes.
  • An interdisciplinary team approach, comprised of professionals and volunteers.
  • Providing relief from psychological, social, and spiritual pain.
  • The need for support of family members and caregivers is recognized and responded to.
  • A support system is offered to help the patient live with quality of life until death.
  • The psychological, social, and spiritual aspects of care are integrated with patients, their families,

        and caregivers.

  • It helps the family cope with illness and suffering after death.
  • It affirms life and recognizes dying as a normal process; death is neither accelerated nor postponed.
    Bereavement care is offered.
